Earlier this week, Munich-based online mailorder Whic proudly launched a new series of single cask bottlings called sujet, which celebrates the art of whisky making by bringing excellent spirits and beautiful artworks together. The three whiskies united under the sujet banner include a Fettercairn 10yo with a Madeira finish (limited to 420 bottles), a Macduff 10yo with a Madeira finish (limited to 400 bottles) and a Tobermory 21yo with a Sherry Octave finish (limited to 231 bottles). All three expressions, which come without coloring or chill filtration, have their labels graced by paintings of Lithuanian artist Ruta Grigaitė. Rather than having been chosen at random, the color schemes of these paintings are said to represent the flavor profiles of the drams.
