Earlier this week, premium spirits producer PROXIMO (best known as the owner of brands such as Bushmills whiskey or The Kraken rum) launched a new Irish whiskey expression called The Sexton in the US. Described as “an unexpected modern-day Irish whiskey for the everyman” and fully matured in Oloroso sherry casks over a period of four years, The Sexton is said to offer “a perfect balance of rich, dried fruits and subtle oak notes, with a smooth finish that leaves you wanting more”.
Overseas, the “smooth, light and fruit-forward spirit that is deep and memorable in character” will sell for the pretty affordable suggested retail price of US-$ 27.99. If, when and at what price point it will hit the stores on the old continent has yet to be made public.
