Whic’s whisky invasion has begun: “The War of the Peat” is on! (News)

The War of the Peat by Whic and Signatory (Single Malt Cask Scotch Whisky Peated Collection)

Today, German mailorder and bottler Whic released the first chapter of its new “The War of the Peat” series – a 13-piece collection of (heavily) peated Scotch whiskies realized in cooperation with Signatory Vintage. In regard to the label and the tube, each “The War of the Peat” single malt pays homage to H.G. Wells’ science fiction classic “The War of the Worlds”. According to Whic, the super-smoky sips in question are as otherworldly and extreme as the invaders in the influential novel. Consequently, they need designs that are as distinct as the drops themselves. To get you in the mood for the imminent invasion, Whic launched an atmospheric teaser video on YouTube. Check it out!

The first chapter of Whic’s “malty and peaty masterpiece in 13 bottlings” is a 12-year-old Ballechin (i.e. peated Edradour) from a refill sherry hogshead. It is bottled with an ABV of 59.3 per cent and limited to no more than 305 bottles. Sounds good? Then hob over to the Whic online shop and grab the first invader by the antennas for EUR 84.90.
