Timorous Beastie 18yo and Rock Oyster 18yo coming soon (News)

Timorous Beastie 18yo and Rock Oster 18yo (Remarkable Regional Malts Douglas Laing Blended Scotch Whisky Highlands Islands)

While all eyes are currently directed at Islay where this year’s iteration of the Feis Ile festival is in full swing, cool things are happening in the other Scottish whisky regions as well. From Glasgow we just received notice that Douglas Laing are proud to announce the addition of a new duo of limited editions to their Remarkable Malts range. Both Timorous Beastie 18yo and Rock Oyster 18yo are  bottled at 46.8 per cent without colouring or chill filtration.

Timorous Beastie, which represents the Highlands within the Remarkable Regional Malts series, has already seen two bottlings with an age statement before. In 2016, Douglas Laing released a glorious 40yo and a sherry-matured 21yo whisky sporting that cute lil’ mouse on the label. For the Islands blend Rock Oyster, however, the new 18yo is the first expression with an age statement. Previously, this marriage of malts produced on the islands of Islay, Arran, Orkney and Jura has brought forth a standard edition in drinking strength and a special edition in high strength.

Both whiskies will be available at specialist shops and online mailorders across the globe very soon. Keep your eyes open!

    1. Absolutely! In fact, there is a good chance I would never have checked out the Timorous Beastie in the first place if it wasn’t for the cute mouse on the label. I fell in love with it the moment I first saw it! :)
