As we just read on the pages of one of our favorite whisky bloggers The Whisky Lady, Hebridean peat masters Ardbeg will release their eagerly awaited An Oa expression in the UK next month. Meant to be a permanent addition to Ardbeg’s core range, An Oa is bottled at 46.6 per cent and described as “Smoky. Sweet. Singularly rounded”. The whisky’s name and character pay homage to one of the wildest and most weather-beaten parts of Islay, namely the Mull of Oa in the Southeast of the island that shields Ardbeg Distillery from the Atlantic ocean’s stormy winds and crashing waves.
In the UK, An Oa will go on sale for a recommend retail price of GBP 49.00. As we do not yet know when it will launch in the rest of the world, we recommend you to stay tuned to Ardbeg’s social media feeds and keep your eyes open for any hints on when An Oa will go on sale in your country.

Nice! I guess I won’t be getting a bottle from the UK next month, but I will surely try the An Oa once it has launched over here in Germany. Let’s hope it finds its way across the canal rather soon. :)
