Kingsbarns Distillery unveils its first whisky release (Lowlands Single Malt Scotch Founders Club Bottling)

Newly founded Lowlands unit Kingsbarns Distillery will always have a special standing with BarleyMania. After all, the first blog post I ever wrote was a recap of a Wemyss and Kingsbarns tasting. At the event, I was given the chance to sip a 1.5 years old cask sample of their clean, light, floral and fruity spirit. Almost two years later, I am happy to feature Kingsbarns Distillery again on my digital pages and share with you the joyful news that the Wemyss-owned production plant has bottled its first single malt Scotch whisky.

Called The Founders’ Reserve Inaugural Release, this milestone malt got filled into a 1st fill ex-bourbon cask from Heaven Hill in 2015 and bottled at the juvenile age of three years in 2018. It is exclusively available to the members of the Kingsbarns Founders’ Club, who will receive their bottles for free this December. So if you would like to score a bottle, hop over to the distillery’s official website via the link below and buy your membership. And while you are at it, do not forget to check out the official news entry for The Founders’ Reserve Inaugural Release – it contains additional information as well as a couple of close-up shots of the beautiful, custom-made bottle and packaging.

EDIT: Apparently, I misread one part of the press release. The whisky has not yet been bottled, but will be bottled in December and sent out to the Founders' Club members in the same month.
