October is one helluva month. On the one hand, it is home to my favorite holiday of the year: Halloween! On the other hand, it is also the month in which my blog BarleyMania celebrates its birthday. Traditionally, I do this by running a give-away. This year, I got my friends from Kirsch Import on board for this. I think I’d share with Dracula – I mean, he’s not that partial to a tipple, and he’s probably a good conversationalist. I wouldn’t want to share with the Hydra though – too many heads = too many mouths = drinking more than it’s fair share!

I would definitely go with Dracula. He probably has some great stories to tall and a stash of old bottles hidden somewhere. Let’s just hope that I wont be the drink of the evening in the end!

Naja, nach ist der erste Dram von der Bowmore Devils Cask mit der Teufel getrunken habe, wurde ich dieses Dram mit Frankensteins Monster trinken. Might loosen those bolts on his neck!!!

I’d like to share my whisky with Dracula, as played by Bela Lugosi. The image of him on the Bauhaus “Bela Lugosi’s Dead” has always been an inspiration of horror.
Search on YouTube for the song, over 9 minutes of Gothic darkness. Perfect for sipping a dram. 🥃🧛🏻♂️
