Kilchoman Vintage 2010 (Review)
At the last Bottle Market in Bremen, the limited Vintage 2010 by Kilchoman was one of my favorite drams. I drank it at the booth of Vibrant Stills, who distribute Islay’s farm distillery here in Germany. Though I was deeply impressed by this multi-layered smokester’s clarity and refinement (more…)
Benrinnes 16yo by Old Particular (Review)
Recently, Douglas Laing’s German importer Bremer Spirituosen Contor started the sublabel “Time for whisky adventures” within the Old Particular line of bottlings. The first releases sporting the new moniker and logo are three real sherry bombs: (more…)
Ballechin 12yo “War of the Peat” by Whic (Review)
Ardmore 10yo “66.150 – Smoke, soot and tarry ropes” by SMWS (Review)

In mystery shows like “Supernatural“, shape-shifters often fill the roles of sly and devious antagonists that use their transformation abilities to mislead the heroes and perform their vile deeds unnoticed. This special breed of shape-shifter, which hails from Craigellachie Distillery (more…)
Kilchoman STR Cask Matured (Review)
Scapa 14yo by Gordon & MacPhail (Review)
When asked about whisky from the Orkney islands, most drammers will say “Highland Park” quick like a shot. There is, however, another production unit on the multipartite archipelago off the north coast of Scotland: Scapa, which was originally founded in 1885. (more…)
The Macallan Edition No 4 (Review)
I have a special relationship with The Macallan’s annual Edition series. My first-ever sip, I took in April 2018. Back then, Edition No 2 marked the epic finale of the complimentary tasting that followed up on the distillery tour. It was one of the last tours through the old production halls. (more…)
